Partnerships

Reach the people who run small nonprofits.

We write a weekly newsletter for the volunteers and officers who keep community organizations going. If you serve that world too, let's talk.

Email us about a partnership partnerships@usepotluck.org

Who reads it

Every week we write for the people who actually do the work at a small community nonprofit — the treasurer who also somehow runs the website, the secretary who books the hall, the volunteer who has run the same chicken dinner for eleven years.

Our readers come from organizations like:

  • Lions Clubs and other service clubs
  • County fair and festival associations
  • Food pantries and community shelters
  • Youth sports leagues
  • Church auxiliaries and volunteer fire department auxiliaries

These are organizations with small budgets, no marketing staff, and nobody whose actual job is communications. They are genuinely hard to reach through any normal channel — no trade publication covers them, and they are not sitting on LinkedIn. That is the whole reason this list is worth something.

29–41% Open rate across our most recent issues. Published weekly.

Two ways to partner

Start here

Cross-promotion. You mention us to the nonprofits you serve, we mention you to ours. No money changes hands, no contract, no invoice — just two organizations that serve the same people pointing at each other. This is what we suggest starting with, and it is the one that tends to actually work.

Also available

Sponsor an issue. A short, clearly labeled mention inside the newsletter. We write it with you so it reads like the rest of the issue instead of like an ad. We do not run third-party ad networks, and we do not sell placements we would not want to read ourselves.

Who this tends to fit

Partnerships work best when you already serve nonprofits and have something our readers would genuinely want to know about:

  • Insurance brokers writing directors & officers or event liability coverage
  • Fundraising suppliers — raffle and auction platforms, promotional products, printers
  • Community foundations and regional nonprofit associations
  • Credit unions and banks with nonprofit accounts
  • Board training, bookkeeping, and grant writing services

Not sure whether you fit? Ask anyway. The worst possible outcome is a short email.

partnerships@usepotluck.org Tell us who you are and who you serve. We read every message and reply to all of them. Happy to share exact subscriber and engagement numbers — just ask.
